When sending a message it doesn't go back to inbox like it used to.

It's because he updated it from beta and with it came it's bugs. The messages still get sent but will make people send it multiple times.
Also Vacation mode link doesn't work.

Another bug is that you can't upgrade troops but people that already did before has the new troops.

Yes you can upgrade troops, the same way you do on beta....try researching bronze working.

It seems the error only exists when sending to some particular players, could you tell me who you were sending messages too?

When you get 9 messages from someone, it's because they had a connection problem and clicked send again prior to the message going out. Both send clicks will result in the message being sent a single time. I don't know if we should consider that a bug in the game, or a bug in the person.
