Topic: feedback for what we'd like to see in our future mod team

1. a mod team that can lead or participate in chat to keep things lively.

2. a mod team that will advise and guide newbies in a positive direction.

3. a mod team that can step in to a disagreeable chat and positively calm the situation and hand out continuous 5 min to 30 minute bans to cool people off.

4. a mod team that is open to reasonable private conversations regarding problems, bans, warnings, etc.

5. a mod team that is not afraid to reset cheaters after proof has been offered up and the offending party/parties have been made aware of the situation and do not work to correct it.

6. a mod team that will be active and work together to get issues dealt with very quickly. very very quickly.

7. a mod team that gets along very well so there is no quarreling among them which prevents people from getting their resets

Yeah, and point 11 to 28927 and onward are obvious points as well tongue

most important thing to me:
-the possibility to take care of cheaters even if the way they are cheating is not described in any  rule. As they say, the letter and spirit of the law!

11. A mod team that respects players and is open for reason in every aspect off the game.

12. A mod team that doesn't assume and act until proof has been offered up in every aspect off the game.

Mods should be more like advisors, not only judges. it is after all a game.

Mod team with very good knowledge of the game, it's possibilities and the spirit to hunt the cheaters with the ability to reset then or ban them... whatever.
(this is also in the hands of the development team since hard coded rules won't prevent cheaters)

I had a little idea:

We have an imprint now that gives the names off the mods. Could it be possible to also put in what languages they speak and what their specialitys are.
For example: mod X (en, nl) cheating, newbie questions.
It would help players out to know where to go when they have a question/problem and not ask the same thing over and over again.
And could it also be possible to put the email (when problems with mods) in the imprint please.

edit: and maybe show something like status: temporarily unavailable when they don't have time for the game for whatever reason we have no business with.

How about this one....

All mods should speak englisch at least, optional dutch/german.
All mods should be available for any question.
All mods should be available.

Messaging can be done ingame, perhaps a mail adress like support@dolumar.net could be used for all mods/admins.

I would like a support system based on a group.

Any mail sent to any mod can be viewed by any other mod, answered by any mod as well.
That way there's more control and no personal issues.

I guess the group based mail is no option as it is now...
Perhaps in a near future.

I like the email but it would have to go fast.
I think all mods should be available is impossible. They can be picked on being online much, but they can have accidents, exams, opperations, sick family that need caring for for a while, busy month at work, holiday, ... basicly  whatever reason we have no busnis with, so why not just let the players know, unavaileble for the moment.

If you can't spend a couple of minutes a day you shouldn't apply as a moderator i guess.


Anyways, that's why the group mail would be the best option, a question mailed to the moderator team would be answered quicly since all mods would check that mail.
Technically this can be easily done, follow ups can be checked by the entire mod team and so on.

I believe to have a good mod team you need different mods. Some who can be online alot to guide players and keep the peace on chat. Some who focus on cheaters. Some who you can depend on for second opinions and control. and so on ... But that doesn't mean they can't take over from each other or still do the other things then what they are good at.
No person can check all the boxes on the list. A good team can.

There's no need to do favours.
Players contact a mod/the mod team, not a peticulair mod.

Anyways, this is turning into a slowchat, let other have the oppurtunity to put in a post or 2.
