Topic: Questions about the future moderator team

The news said: Decisions made by moderators will be non-disputable. You can, however, report improper moderator behaviour directly to me. Endless discussions in the forum will no longer be tolerated.

A mod said on this global forum:Individual bans are to be discussed with the moderator at first, if that won't give you a satisfying answer you can mail the development team.

If a moderator (in general) abuses his power. What will be done about it?
For example: A player gets banned for over 8000hours on chat and pm (chatrules say a mod can do it for any reason). We should discus this with  the moderator in question. Can a mod say whatever he wants in private or will something be done about that when we report it?
Decisions made by moderators will be non- disputable. Does this mean if a moderator (in general) abuses his powers the player is screwed and his only option is restart with a different name and hope the moderator doesn't find out (tried it as player, no fun) or quit?

Is a moderator alowed to use improper languagues in private or public to a player?
Is a moderator alowed to share players logs in private or public?
Is a moderator alowed to share game information in private or public?

If not what will be done about it?

Are players allowed to put a moderator on ignore? (what means we can't see any off the moderator's warnings)

Re: Questions about the future moderator team

Hi wolfie!

I'll try to answer your questions, they're not that hard!

You can do whatever you wish with the "ignore function" in chat.
Most mods will adress you using the pm system regarding game issues, if you are active in chat you may recieve messages in chat as well.
We all understand that if you abuse chat you'll get a warning in chat, if you don't see that warning because you have the moderator on ignore you're on your own.
Meaning: you won't revieve warnings and won't be able to follow leads given by the moderator, you also have no excuse about not being warned.
In short, it seems to me it's best not to ignore the moderators, they are here for a reason.

It seems only logic to discuss things with the moderator first don't you think?
If YOU have a problem with someone YOU should adress that person first, after all you 2 are the ones having a conflict.
Don't ask developers to do moderators work and vice versa, that's what the mods are here for and i'm sure most of the moderator team will answer all your questions correct and very responsive. (working on expansion of the moderator team, applications are still welcome)
Asking the developers to do moderator work, mailing them every little thing that might be wrong only stalls futher development of the game and is not doing any good for the game itself.
(we're all here to have a good time, most of us at least)

About how the management adresses mods and how the management and the mods communicate, that's between those people involved and is of no interest to individual players.

Futhermore i think most questions you're asking are answered in previous chats and forum topics, try to use the search function.

on a personal note
May once more ask you to stop this discussion about the moderators, perhaps worry about your troops or village a little more, get it out of vmode and enjoy the game instead of trying to be a Don Quixote in this game.

Your village is 38100% bigger than the defending village. You will probably lose 90 honour by attacking this village. If someone of your clan attacked this village earlier, every clan member will lose honour.

Re: Questions about the future moderator team

In the news: We are going to review our moderators. Anyone who's interested in becoming a new moderator can apply here. We will also listen to the feedback from players in order to pick a moderator team that is acceptable to anyone (please use the forum for this). Please apply before February 17th.

I would like to know what review means.
I would like to give feedback in order to let the devteam pic a moderator team that is accepteble to anyone.
If I say that mod is unaccepteble I get banned. If I ask what are mods allowed to do. You tell me to stop the discussion about moderators.
I can not enjoy the game right now. I can not ignore the problem  have now without putting myself into problems. I have sent everything personal to Thijs in any way I could think off: on facebook: no answer, private messages on global forum: not even been read, email to thijs@catlab.be no answer. From saying what I think mods are doing wrong to warning him a mod is about to leave for this reason, to warning him from the very start the new rules would cause problems, to anything I can think off what could help (not destroy the game). I have tried in any way to help improve the game. All I got back for it are bans and namecalling.
I'm telling the developersteam now, that taking the rules out helps to stop some problems, but it doesn't take away all problems. I have sent the reasons for that to them on the email given by them because it involves one mod and one I don't know if he's mod or exmod and they ask so. Handleling this one problem would help the game (in my opion) but doesn't asure it wont happen again.
So I as player ask what the plan is, so we all can try to avoid problems before it happens again and more players or mods quit. The devs have opend this window by asking for feedback.
If the dev team tells me that was a lie, I'll just quit.

On a personal note: I would love to get out off vmode. I have been talking to players about what clan I could/would join before I leave vmode but discussions and bans keep getting in the way.

Re: Questions about the future moderator team

You do have a good point there.
I think someone has to do some thinking about the kind and sort of discussion.
We won't tolerate discussion about the functioning of individual mods, this leads to personal attacks or to say the least, discussion wich can be interpreted as personal attacks.
Since the mods are volunteers we would like to avoid that so we can assure everyone is having fun.

I think in the next stage of the moderator recruitment selection a couple people will be nominated, people may have the possibility of voting for that person in some way.
Trouble is there's only a small amount of people using the forum and most "happy" players don't know there's a forum anyways. I'm sure the development team will have some answers for us all when they've made up their minds.
The developers asking for feedback was not an opportunity for anyone to question their management or to question the functioning of the current moderator team.

As for you not coming out of vmode?
I can not think of one reason you are not playing, since the rules are very simple, everything that is allowed by game mechanics is allowed at the moment, only thing that we're banning people for is abuse of the system before the new rules were dropped.
(those players nominated for reset are still nominated and will get reset soon)
Discussions and bans have no influence on the game itself, the bans are for cheating players who will get reset, no use in getting involved with them, the discussion it only fed by a few people... most players on the server are enjoying it as it is (while we're all hoping the hard coded implementation of the previous rules is done very quickly)

Your village is 38100% bigger than the defending village. You will probably lose 90 honour by attacking this village. If someone of your clan attacked this village earlier, every clan member will lose honour.

Good questions for clarification Wolfie

Assuring everybody has fun is the only reason why I'm still here.
You think about the next stage, you don't know. Neither do I. That's why I ask.
I get  and got complaints from players all the time. Yes they don't come to the global forum. Some don't see the point, it's all been said before it's all been ignored. Some ask me open on chat: can you do it Wolfie" when I ask them to put it on global forum or tell Daed about it. They see how other players are treated on the forum and on the game and in private. I can tell you I am sick and tired off it. I try to follow any rule, question or whatever givin to players, I still end up defending myself in every single way. The problems I have are still the same players have had from the very beggining I played this game.
I asked in general this time. I question the current team in private like I have been told. Like I said we had these problems before, other players, other mods, most quit playing. No change we will have these problems again other players other mods.

I can not say anything about me coming out off vmode. I would have to say you told me something else in private, I can't do that, I'll get banned. I did it in private like we have been told to do.
Bans have a big influence in the game. Communication is a very importent factor in a war game.
Bans are only to be discussed with the players in question yet it is on here again.
I personally don't want to get banned from this global forum for no reason. I did NOTHING before I got banned.
One big question comes to mind. Players are getting banned on chat now for cheating in the game now when it has been said and you said it again everything that is allowed by game mechanics is allowed at the moment. How is it cheating? The rules are not gone aldo you and the news say so?
Players are happy now? Then why do they keep complaining to me? Why do they keep having discussions? Why do players and mods keep quiting, are the ones who did quit not coming back, stay the ones who went in vmode with all that has happend in vmode?

I (a player) have been told Endless discussions in the forum will no longer be tolerated.
I would like to keep to this rule. Therefor I will go back on topic:

What will be done about the problems we have now and had in the past?
How can we give feedback in order to pick a moderator team that is acceptable to anyone without getting banned or ignored?

Re: Questions about the future moderator team

You seem to have a very slick and sneaky way to slip in a few accusations every time.
I unbanned you cause you promised you would behave, and you would stop the endless discussions, yet... here we are again!
Perhaps this time the questions are legit?  Some are, the fact that you manage to insinuate there's some dirty game being played just ruins every normal discussion for me.
Please, write the developer, stop ventilating your insinuations and accusations on the forum.

Your village is 38100% bigger than the defending village. You will probably lose 90 honour by attacking this village. If someone of your clan attacked this village earlier, every clan member will lose honour.
