Topic: Total lack of respect

I found it hard to find a starting point to my post. I want to express my deepest disgust in the way the game is being "handled". It has been OVER 1 year since any "development" has been done.

This is true and continues to be true even after the newly launched Stable2 server. The fact that a new server is launched(AND calling it Stable none the less), a server that retains 90% of the problems the Speed server has. The ONLY "improvement" is the impossibility to attack your clan mates. Wheres the fix for the total, game-breaking imbalance of the two races? Currently its like the elfs having big, fire breathing dragons and humans fighting them with wooden sticks and stones. It has been like this from Speed v1, was not fixed for Speed v2 and now was brought to the Stable server. Good job. Way to go. Want a cookie? Lets move on. Wheres the fix for the archers/witches? Currently they are totally useless. Again, this same problem was on Speed v1, then Speed v2 and now Stable2.  Not to mention the rest of the "smaller" problems, like cost imbalances for some of the equipements/spells Lets move on again. Where are the real "developements"? I mean there were talks about two other races beeing developed, new units, new buildings. And finaly, wheres the "Underworld"? Daeds "secret" project. I heard about this from Daed himself about two years ago whwn i joined this game. It was mentioned again currently by Daed himself on chat, it is also mentioned on the games Twitter page in a message posted on Jun13 "Working hard on a secret feature.".
There are other issues also but this post is getting pretty long as it is.

PS I just needed to rent a bit about my frustration. My biggest frustration is with the fact the the good gameplay of Stable1 is beeing dumped in favor of this half-backed Speed server gameplay.  Stable1 worked and worked fine for two years, the Speed gameplay is just purely brocken, at the very least in its current form.

You tell 'em! XD Really I agree with you completely - I find they are "improving" things like making ur troops die when u hav no food. and they are not doing anything thing to real problems.

I really really like this game alot, and wanted to disagree with the above, but i can't.

i knew the human/elves were not balanced, but the numbers that the human are supposed to have aren't even actual, for example spearmen cavalry defense at 60.

how couldn't anything else possibly need to get fixed before this???

to keep it short:

I feel ya.
What you say is correct.

But I think your topic title is a bit harsh. Wrong decisions have been made, of course, like everyone we make mistakes. But its not out of a total lack of respect for the players.
The slow progress in development has a number of reasons, personal stuff, practical stuff etc.

I still hope we can breathe new life into Dolumar. I myself will start to look into the code too now, hopefully I can do some good and for example get the races balanced.

Yes I still want to add new races, but first I want them to be more balanced. I think most of you will agree wink



Lastly I want to thank the people that paid for the game. Its because of you the server can be sustained.
And also the people that enjoyed the game for free, you helped to make it fun. Thanks. smile

I personally didn't know what to reply on this post. I know development has been slow the last year or so, but I too have a life, school and work to think off. I understand that, especially the paying members, expect a little more effort from our sides.

But, as Milan said, I am committed to make this game better. This game has been a big part of my life for a few years now, I don't want to lose it due to sloppy management and slow development.

I know these are just a few words to patch the wounds, but I mean them. I'm still committed to this game, I just don't have a lot of spare time. And since I can't count on Dolumar hitting the big pot, I need to secure my own future as well :-)

I understand perfectly, believe me. But maybe you guys should actually play your own game and then you'd understand better our perspectiv also. When you've played this game as long as i have and having a big gaming experience you come to expect some stuff from a game. I kept my expectations from this game very very.....very low from the beginning. I am a paying player but even if i would not have payed i would still have expectations from a game.  When two beta servers ran theyr life cycle(talking about Speed 1 and 2) and you launch the 3rd server with the exact same problems, problems that were reported countless times before, how can i not name this a "lack of respect"? Sure you have your private life, just like everybody else does, but lets be honest here, you're not the only ones that do. Countless others are in school(university/college whatever) including myself(well i finished a good couple of years ago) and we also had to work beside school and have our hobbies. You guys have the opportunity to combine the work part with hobbie, you just have to priorities. If you'd take care of the game better, much more support and a bit more advertisement, the game could actually be prifitable and not just keeping itself above see level.

As the longest continuing player (I think) on Dolumar I have to agree to the points. Personally I'd rather see less servers. The base that plays is what keeps the others going as well. I tried to start paying but when I lost what I paid in one hit , I gave up. It wasnt worth it to me to buy runes to lose them all in one hit. Anywho I am aware you have a life and school. Im all for that. If you leave it to 2 servers thats less to track and more time to concentrate on them.

Moderators. I think there should be a few more. A moderator board. I believe that there should be at least 5. That 5 should get together to vote on bans lasting more than a day or if the same person was banned and is going to be banned again by the same mod. No offense to Demo and Peak , I like you guys really, but I believe there is a level of personal stuff being entered into their decisions. Just the tone just doesnt seem right to me in there.
Im thinking there has to be a better way... thats all for now
