I guess it's official now...

On Beta the old timers guild has finally put every other player into vmode.
The last of the mohikans (Mr_Bug) has surrendered!

I guess if the developers want to continue to keep testing the beta it needs to be reset, all we will test now are the resources and the rune searches.

Your village is 38100% bigger than the defending village. You will probably lose 90 honour by attacking this village. If someone of your clan attacked this village earlier, every clan member will lose honour.

Thats kinda the reason I suggested that rune stealing be turned off, or free runes given for beta.

With 2 beta's running and population going down fast i don't think free runes would help....

I just think its harder to "put every other player into vmode" if you cant take runes, or if there are enough runes that  buildings can't be destroyed.

Some rune source needs to be tested, even the rune springs with limitations n rune stealing

Some players go in vmode when the attack is still on the way, those players made it way to easy. What we need are players who can take a hit and try to be a little betterin the game.

/me would love a challenge for onces.

A lot of the time that is the case after the fact they see their clan members get hit several times a day non stop or see 1 hit take 10-14 runes from mostly buildings, then they can do anything back to them because they aren't able to get runes back due to being to small. There are other inbalances and things causing some people to grow too fast to ever be brought down. Some are features some are just people abusing features.

Your clanmembers were offline for days, ofcours they're gonna loose bad if they don't retrain.
You hit me back onces and got 20 runes, it's not impossible but you do have to try.
As for abusing features, devs get that abuse out and we wont have that problem.
But keep in mind there is a difference between abusing features and playing smart.

When many people left to focus on other servers or had to go cause of real life issues that left not many to help defend or attack. So that means a couple small clans with mediocre armies against 5 or so really big armies and 1 or 2 of those with 2 villages. I can't be on 24/7 as much as I would like to, especially on multiple servers. I can't afford to move my village around or buy runes. There was a bad timing too where 3 or 4 people had to go at once because real life took over.  A beta restart wouldn't hurt a thing. It is suppose to be a testing ground anyhow that can reset whenever like it says when first bring up the page. On speed for example, it is and will hard to keep people around when they feel they are being dealt a bad hand because others are growing faster threw means they can't or don't use because they realize its not designed to be that way. I see this starting to happen by what people tell me. If there was 1000s more starting at the beginning and more coming in little later yet still then those things mention before  wouldn't seem to hurt the game so bad but it does. Restarting at least one of the servers once every 6 months would be a grand idea I feel. That way people have one to play over and over with possible different results each time. Can have a longer more stable working server still but I don't think over a year in my opinion. After things get fixed more perhaps something could happen like other games where their is some sorta end game scenario and something special event happens with a small story line at end right before reset. A permanent time line of how long a specific server will/should stay open might work wonders. Other big name games use this well. That and only put newer things on the servers when they get reset. Could even do versions of servers like now. Where those that like the old server battle system can still play there with equal chance from more often resets and their units are same as their enemy. You could even mix the old battle system with having the new spells. There are so many possibilities one could suggest.

what is your castle level determined how many runes you get from searches. that would put enough runes in circulation that successful attacks wouldn't always destroy buildings.

The only problem beta has is the number of players: there are way too few. if that can't be helped, you can reset or try whatever you want, the server won't stay alive for long.

mods can delete this account if they want to, maybe they'll do something usefull for once.

I think its time to reset the beta server, everbody is almost in V-Mode!! I have a hard time finding someone of same worth that isnt in vmode.....

please reset stable, no one left worth attacking within 350L  except clan members

If they reset stable, they will just implement the rule set from speed server, but a lot of things need to be fixed before those speed rules are implemented on stable. For example the total imbalance of the two races, the almost total uselessness of the archer units, the countless "exploits"/workarounds players are using on speed server and others i dont remember now and others that i dont even know about(i dont play on speed).

With the terrible consequences of the BigPoint lock-out for several big players, I would side with mtnmystic, that a reset would be the only way to put it behind us and move forward.  Even if it means fixing a few things in the beginning.  But I also wholeheartedly agree with KEL, that there are issues that needs addressing.

I like the speed on speed server it gives the game more, how dou you say... interest?
on speed you check more then once a day your village on stable your a bit easier, especially when you are going to attack someone who is 3 days away.

Also the upgrades give it a bit more depth, on stable its more numbers, on speed you need the right equipment. (you can still be slaughtered by 300guals against 700 longswords)

maybe an idea to make a new topic with the do's and donts for a new reset???

Pixel, the rule-set from speed server will be brought to stable server BUT this does NOT mean the speed will increase. Speed server is 3X faster then stable so stable will be 3Xslower then speed server even after the reset. In anyrate, Daed promissed he will let us know 3 months BEFORE the reset will hapen. I dont hold to much trust in this promiss seeing as he allready tried to implement the speed ruleset to stable without ANY worning.  But still i'm hoping he will keep his promiss and announce the reset at least 3 months before AND fix the speed-server ruleset before implementing it.
Without fixing, the server will be full of pointy eared players, no archers units, players exploiting the 25% rune-loss rule and other exploits i dont even know about(dont play on speed). Theese things HAVE to be fixed before implementing on stable.
So, i say a definit NAY to reset under the curent situation, but YAY if things are fixed and announced 3 months before.

I Agree with Laker,

bugs have to be fixed before we reset otherwise, we will get the same problems.
I m on unstable and speed with humans and they are indeed a lot weaker. it takes about 1/2 more units to get the job done.

BUT if it takes about 6 more months, maybe a reset would be fine to get everyone started on the same level again?

I can see Lakers point about the bugs, but stable is pretty much done and a simcity game now..Can't they fix the bugs on the stable reset just as easily as on speed now?
