Topic: Portals can make me lose honor...
Why am I opening up portals to people I lose honor for attacking?

Are you attacking someone that was already attacked once in clan lately? That would do it.

That has nothing to do with it. Portals open to a random player with about the same size of your village not players in your honorrange.
very true I should wake up
Without knowing the value level of the defender that is what got me thinking of that sorry. And when he attacked him for honor loss what was the value, that was my thinking. Just need slightly more info is all. If it is opening to the right size of value I would say it is very bad luck or there is not many within his value range.

Or he has a lot of loose runes.
Another arguement to base rank on runes (used and unused) in the village! ![]()
That would make life so much easier, portals would open to anyone within honor range, everybody with the same amount of runes would be in the same league.
No what happens is, I open a portal and go to attack the person and I find out I will lose honor. It's a waste of my gems.

The issue as far as I can tell is this.
1) Portals work from the point of score.
2) Honor now works from the point of runes in village.
That is what demonic is talking about, there are two systems being used for portals and attacks, and a mismatch can happen.

That's a huge problem. Unused runes shouldn't bring people up at all.
I really disagree with Demonic here. The current system is making it too easy to slaughter smaller players. Currently, if you get a decent win when you are small (on top of the other problems mentioned in the other thread) you have to build with those runes (build troops) because for a little while, nobody your size is going to be in your honor range.
I totally agree with Demonic. If you're small and you win runes, you're supposed to build. That's why you're small, because you haven't built yet.
Opening a portal to someone not within honor range is just goofy.
when i suggested that free runes should count in honour, i didnt expect the results to be like that.
i still agree that free runes *should* interfere with honour, but not as it is right now. a player with 50 runes spent and 20 free, cant be given *same* status as a player with 70 used runes and non-free, it's just not right...
maybe make free runes count as half a rune? just an idea.
Honestly I think there are enough mechanisms to prevent rune banking if a reasonable trade limit was put in, without hurting honor.

But I can't see anything positive about it that helps EVERYONE not just the huge players. Free runes shouldn't count at all in my opinion.

A mechanic shouldn't handle rune banks. The mods can see when huge amounts of runes are transferred, they should be the ones dealing with it.

Agreed.

That's just it, smaller players have got to build/train/equip before they can launch another attack. All the while, they are going to be under siege.
What's the objective of the game?
I mean at last to get more points to get higher in the ranking. If somebody doesn't build or build up he won't get higher. If i right understood bigger player can attack now smaller players with lot of unused runes without lose honor. Is that right?
So if you could see how much unused runes a village hold rune bankers would be a target for bigger players.
So everybody has to thinking about hold lot of runes or not.
I mean to much regulations will kill the game.

Different players have different reasons for playing: some like fighting, some like destroying things, some like to build in a hostile environment, some like the interactions with other players, and so on.
On stable, we used to (and some of us still do) subsidize growth in smaller players in unaffiliated clans. It is, rather frankly, nobody else's concern if one of us chooses to dump runes on a smaller player. My clan's welcoming package was at one point between 50 and 100 runes (depending on the expected long term value of that player). Read this post very carefully - http://en.forum.dolumar.com/topic/192/h … ion-issue/ - I would be crippling that new player if stable had the same rules that speed does.
All of the hype and concerns about "rune banking" got started by the actions of a single player on speed in his efforts to preserve a rather substantial collection of runes. There is simply no advantage to storing runes in a smaller village - and there never really has been. Some people try to do it to spare their runes from an incoming attack, without thinking of the fact that they will now lose buildings. Given our slow build times, tearing down anything of strategic import really cripples a player over the long run.
That's what i mean. There is no adventage to have lot of runes. But why should it be forbidden to have them? If you have lot of runes you will lose lot of runes when you lose a battle and the attacker will be happy if he keeps 30 runes or more. And if somebody wants to stay small let him stay small!
It is not against any rules to have a stash of runes that you came by honestly. ![]()

Exactly so. So why are we using a system that punishes small players for having a pile of runes?

Ok, i have not so many runes but im very happy. ![]()

What does that even mean? We can have multiple accounts? We keep them in second villages?
Noooo!!!!!! It's just that deitmar_1960 had mentioned it was not allowed.
Not everyone can runebank though.
